The following is how TBS conducted distance learning in April and May 2020. If required, our distance learning in 2020-2021 will be similar except students may choose to be in the classroom or distance learn. (One or the other.)

Distance learning for K3, K4, and K5 students utilizes group learning and individualized teacher-student interaction. So each teacher is interacting with students on a daily basis.

Our teachers are:

  • Mrs. Gustafson with Miss Rebecca Noboa (K3)
  • Mrs. Key and Miss Stockman (and Mrs. Noboa) for K4 (There are two classes)
  • Miss Bowman for K5

The primary means of communication is Zoom. Daily class time is recorded so any student who misses the group instruction can be viewed later.

Class sessions are 40 to 50 minutes long and  individualized learning is about 20 to 30 minutes per child and depends on the child and grade level.

Reading circles (MWF) begin in the K4 classes, about 15 minutes each. And there are one-on-one reading sessions

Other features... depending on the grade.

  • Music time with our music teacher Miss Finley,
  • Virtual field trips
  • Daily Bible lesson
  • Character development
  • Songs and poems
  • Geography videos
  • Story time
  • Art time
  • Friday fun days

The following was the April/May 2020 protocol for distance learning:
