ODACS for students at Temple means the annual Bible, academic, and fine arts competition for grades 4-6, 7-12. It occurs in March and April. ODACS is actually an organization: the Old Dominion Association of Church Schools. But for all intents and purposes, when you hear the term ODACS (pronounced O-DAKS) it means competition.
Our approach to this competition differs a bit. We consider ODACS to be fun and healthy competition. It's a golden opportunity to hone skills to glorify the Lord with the talent He has bestowed upon our students. That's it. It's not an ultra-competitive event that becomes a primary focus for our school. So having said that, we are very proud of our students, who pretty much are on their own in working towards this competition. We've had many students go on and win at national competition.
